RDC - Robert Doughty - Town Planning and Landscape Architecture
RDC secured planning permission for Fieldview Homes 9 unit residential development.
The project involved the redevelopment of a visually sensitive corner plot with two road frontages in the heart of the village and included finding a new home for the resident population of Pipestrelle Bats who were roosting in an old 1970's bungalow.
Early consultation with East Lindsey District Council lead to the approval of a suitable design appraisal prior to the submission of the planning application. From the start, the developer worked with our appointed ecologist to ensure the layout and design of the dwellings took into account the presence of the bats and the development as constructed provides more suitable roosting opportunities than were originally present. The bats have already returned to the site and were clearly encouraged by our client's early completion deals!
The project is a good example of our work starting with site analysis through to individual dwelling designs, obtaining full planning permission via negotiation, co-ordination of external specialists, discharging conditions and facilitating approval under the Bulding Regulations.
