Cressy Hall Farm Barns
RDC - Robert Doughty - Town Planning and Landscape Architecture
RDC secured planning permission for the conversion of Grade II listed barns near Gosberton.
Having established the barns were no longer suitable for agriculture and in accordance with the local Planning Authority's guidance, the barns were marketed for sale to assess their potential for re-use either for business or as short-term holiday lets. With little interest expressed during the marketing for the historic barns, work commenced to design a scheme for their conversion into two residential units.
With the assistance of the Local Planning Authority's Conservation Officer and her colleagues, the project evolved to include the reinstatement of a historic stable unit using data providing by the client.
A comprehensive Design and Access Statement prepared by the practice, helped to ensure both the Full Planning and Listed Building Consent applications were approved within the statutory eight weeks without objection from English Heritage.
